Working in groups/teams is critical to your success in the real world. Many of our courses will have group projects which will require you to work with others in your class. This can sometimes be challenging since people have different work styles, personalities, ethics, etc, but having strong team collaboration and leadership experience will set you up for success after you complete your studies. If you experience issues during group work, reach out to your instructor for support.

A few tips for successful group work:

  • Be respectful of your group mates. Everyone’s opinion counts and should be heard
  • Communicate openly
  • Share the workload and divide tasks evenly
  • Set clear expectations for each person
  • Set individual and group timelines
  • Meet the timelines that are assigned to you
  • Deliver your best quality work
  • Have an open discussion on how the group will solve problems when they arise.

Reach out to your instructor if needed.
