In this webinar\, Jim will explore the practice of Indigenous Dispute Resolution (IDR)\, highlighting unique considerations in mediating in Indigenous contexts and best practices that IDR offers to the Family Mediation sector. \nHosted by:\n \nNicole Pereira\, Program Manager \n \nJim Doxtdator\, AccFM\, CPMed\, CDFA \nJim is Haudenosaunee\, Wolf Clan\, Cayuga Nation. Jim is an Accredited Family Mediator (AccFM) and Child Protection Mediator (CPMed) with the Ontario Association for Family Mediation (OAFM). Jim practices Indigenous Dispute Resolution (IDR) in the realm of child protection services.   \nJim works with the John Howard Society of Hamilton as a Restorative Practitioner and as a Facilitator of a court diversion program. He also serves as a Staff Mediator at Family Court with the Ontario Court of Justice. Jim founded Peace Builder Mediation to provide individuals\, families and institutions peaceful paths to resolution.

Through real-life examples and analogies\, this interactive virtual open class will help you understand how value accrues to data as it progresses through its lifecycle\, which entails collection\, cleaning and integration\, modelling and analysis\, decision-making\, and impact. \nREGISTER HERE\n\nAbout the Speaker: \n \nDr. Preeti Raman designs and investigates evidence-based\, data-enhanced hybrid learning experiences and technologies to support caring pedagogies across a range of settings. Her expertise is situated in the fields of Computer Science\, Affect Studies\, the Learning Sciences and AI in Education. \nAn accomplished professional with over 20 years of global technology consulting and teaching experience\, gained from working in North America\, Germany\, Hong Kong and India\, Preeti is a passionate advocate for the importance of Math and Technology education in driving innovation. She earned her doctorate in Curriculum and Pedagogy at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education\, University of Toronto where her work has been supported through multiple fellowships and scholarships. She holds an MA in Curriculum Studies and Teacher Development from the University of Toronto\, a Masters in Computer Science from Carleton University and a Bachelors in Computer Engineering from Bangalore University. Currently\, she is an educational researcher with the Teaching Systems Lab at MIT\, USA.
